Drawing on his expertise in project management, space planning, and manufacturing operations management, James has successfully led Küster Design since its inception. His commitment to understanding and shaping emotions within interior spaces has enabled him to create environments that not only captivate customers but also foster long-term loyalty for his clients' businesses. His portfolio includes independent inns and tasting rooms, where he excels in crafting distinctive branding messages that set his clients apart from competitors while prioritizing functionality and sustainability.
In addition to his role at Küster Design, James has contributed to the field of design education as an Adjunct Instructor at The Art Institute of Indianapolis from 2009 to 2010. During this time, he taught Furniture, Cabinet, and Product Design, imparting his knowledge and expertise to aspiring interior designers. His dedication to education underscores his commitment to advancing the industry and nurturing future talent in design. Before founding Küster Design, James served as the President and Founder of SEGCO in 2002, where he developed a pioneering product from concept to branding campaign, securing a patent, and successfully negotiating its sale.
Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, James held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer at Allied Metal Products & Engineering Corp from 1991 to 2001. In this role, he demonstrated exceptional leadership in revenue enhancement, sales strategies, and operational management, solidifying the company's reputation for quality and integrity. James holds a Master of Science in Industrial Administration from Purdue University's Daniels School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. His academic background, combined with his hands-on experience in business and design, has equipped him with the multifaceted expertise necessary to excel in his dynamic career.
