The Best Luxury Hotels in Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a small country but has so much to offer. Volcanoes, the amazing Caribbean and Pacific Coast, lots of nature and national parks, tasty food, friendly people, good music, and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, which you will most likely have for your own.
Although all the huge hotel brands like Hilton, Intercontinental, Four Seasons, etc., also have nice hotels in Costa Rica, I would like to introduce you to some smaller, handpicked hotels that will make your stay really special.
In cooperation with my friend Mareike, an expert in Costa Rica vacations, we compiled a list of the Best Luxury Hotels in Costa Rica.
1. Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort
Andaz Peninsula Papagayo is a luxury resort surrounded by nature. The resort has 153 rooms, including 21 suites with amazing views and partly even a private pool.

2. Hotel Punta Islita
Hotel Punta Islita is a beach resort near Samara Beach in Guanacaste. It offers five different room categories: Standard, Deluxe, Junior Suite, Junior Suite Premium, and private Villas.
The luxury two or three-room Villas are equipped with a full kitchen and even a private pool. Ideal for families or a group of friends.

3. El Silencio Lodge & Spa

4. Nayara Gardens
Nayara Gardens (formerly Nayara Hotel, Spa & Gardens) is located near the Arenal Volcano. It has three different accommodation categories, Deluxe Casita, Rainforest Villa, and Springs Villa. All of them are free-standing, surrounded by tropical gardens, and view either of the rainforest or the Arenal Volcano.

5. Capitan Suizo Boutique Hotel
Capitan Suizo Boutique Hotel is located right at Tamarindo Beach outside the town. The hotel is owned by a Swiss family and received the 5 leaves level award in the Certification of Sustainable Tourism (CST). All 35 rooms are oriented towards the ocean and have either a balcony or terrace.

6. Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Eco Lodge
Playa Nicuesa Rainforest is an eco-lodge on the Golfo Dulce, across the water from the Osa Peninsula, in the south of Costa Rica. Already the journey is an adventure as you can only reach the lodge by boat.
Once there, you can do all kinds of rainforest & ocean adventures, yoga & wellness, do fishing, watch wildlife and visit the famous Corcovado national park.
