Universal Traveller – Travelling ‘Round The World
Today I finally arrived after 5 days and more than 2.600 kilometers in La Herradura which is located about 70 kilometer distant from Malaga. I drove with 16 different persons though four countries. It was sometimes very difficult; I had to wait for a long time and did not know where to sleep. Yeah, it was pretty uncomfortable but I have met so many nice people and made unforgettable experiences.
Many people say that it is difficult to hitchhike in Spain; and they are right. However it is nevertheless worth it to try. You won’t regret it. However most people do not stop when you are standing on the street sticking out your thumb or showing a sign where you want to go. The easiest way to hitchhike in Spain and I guess everywhere else as well is to approach the people for example on a patrol station or motorway restaurant.
Well, during the last four nights I did not really sleep. I was pretty tired and just wanted to finally arrive. Due to this reason I decided to take the bus from Cartagena over Granada to Almunecar. The distance accounts for 380 kilometers and the ticket costs 33 Euros. However a few very nice people gave me some money although I did not want to take it. Thank you very much again, I will never forget it. Due to this reason I did not pay anything for the trip to Spain and hope that I can find a way to stay a bit longer here and to go also to Portugal and Morocco.
